Golden Arrow #1 came out in 1942 as Fawcett Publications attempt to spin off a solo title for the titular hero, who'd started out in Whiz Comics as a Wild West version of Robin Hood. The Golden Arrow was really expert archer Roger Parsons, who'd coat his arrows in gold leaf while helping to keep the Wild West safe on his horse named White Wind. Also, he'd sometimes show up in the present day to help out Captain Marvel. This debut issue was strictly dedicated to Golden Arrow stories — and while the solo title would only last six issues, the Golden Arrow still enjoyed a long run from Whiz Comics #2 to the book's next-to-last issue of Whiz Comics #154.
