By making an offer and/or buying an item, you create a binding and enforceable legal contract between you and Metropolis Collectibles to pay for the items within 7 days of the agreed purchase under the terms and conditions of the User Agreement. After purchasing an item, the item will appear in the "Shopping Cart", from which you must complete your order by clicking on "Proceed to Checkout" and following the prompts for the checkout process. Metropolis Collectibles suggests waiting up to 5 days after your first purchase to checkout, this way you can have all your items on one invoice with one shipping/handling charge.

Metropolis Collectibles accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover, AMEX, PayPal, checks, money orders, ACH, and wire transfer. Metropolis Collectibles does not accept credit cards or PayPal for orders or cumulative outstanding balances above $2,500. Please note we cannot accept checks from non-U.S. banks, as Metropolis Collectibles incurs additional expense in depositing them. Payment must be received within 7 days of the agreed purchase. Failure to make payment in the time specified may result in the cancellation of your order, cancellation of your member account, and your orders and bids may not be processed in the future. If your payment method fails, we reserve the right to collect fees owed using other collection mechanisms (this includes charging other payment methods on file with us, retaining collection agencies and legal counsel).
All credit cards are subjected to our merchant processor's verification system. In the event that our merchant processor is unable to verify the information you have provided with your credit card, Metropolis Collectibles may require additional steps to verify your identity. If Metropolis Collectibles is unable to verify ownership of your credit card, payment must be made in PayPal, cash, check, money order, ACH, or wire transfer. If paying by credit card, please note that we cannot ship orders to an address that is not on file with your credit card company. If paying by PayPal, please note that we cannot ship to an unverified address. All fee-bearing payment types such as credit card or PayPal will incur a surcharge of 3%. Payment by cash, check, money order, ACH, or wire transfer will not incur a surcharge. This fee only applies to fee-bearing payment types such as credit cards or PayPal, and does not exceed Metropolis Collectibles’s cost of processing.
By making an offer, you are creating a binding and enforceable legal contract to purchase the item if the offer is accepted, and will be bound by the terms listed above. All offers expire after 48 hours. If the offer was not accepted within the allotted time period, the offer becomes null and void.
From the time Metropolis Collectibles receives your payment, please allow up to 2-3 weeks for your items to be shipped.
Metropolis Collectibles does not store all items on premises during the period they are listed for sale. Immediately upon your agreement to purchase an item, the item will be transported to Metropolis Collectibles within 7 days. Metropolis Collectibles will then review and process the item(s) you purchased, and ship your order. Your shipping and handling charges will be determined based on the weight, insured value, and shipping destination of your order. If you have any special requests or special delivery instructions, please contact us. We prefer to ship with and recommend FedEx, although USPS options are available. Orders valued over $400.00 will require an adult signature on delivery.
All duties and taxes levied on shipments are the responsibility of the buyer. Metropolis Collectibles shall not be liable for any loss caused by or resulting from seizure or destruction under quarantine or Customs regulation, or confiscation by order of any Government or public authority.
Upon shipment of your order a notification will be sent to your email on file. Any request for shipping verification, or filing a claim for an undelivered package, must be made within 30 days of shipment.

Picking up your order needs to be arranged ahead of time. Please keep in mind that orders take a few days to process, our inventory is large and the books need to be located before you come to pick up. Also orders may not be available for pickup at a convention if the order was placed close to the convention dates. All "in person" sales (conventions, in office etc.) are final. There are no returns, refunds, credits, exchanges accepted on "in person" sales.
We're certain you'll be happy with your merchandise. We take extra care to fully describe our items, including any flaws. If you have any questions regarding any of the items you are ordering, please email us at: [email protected] before placing your order. If the rare occasion arises where you feel you must return an item, please contact us for return instructions within ten (10) days (by phone or email) of receipt of your item(s). Upon our receipt and inspection of the returned item(s), we will issue a refund or credit for your item(s) if returned in the same condition as it was when originally sent to you, excluding shipping/insurance costs. Buyer is responsible for return shipping/insurance costs, which will not be reimbursed for any reason. Returned merchandise must be received by us within seven (7) days of the date from which you contact us regarding the return.
When returning merchandise, please ship your books in the same packaging Metropolis used to send your order. Be sure all cardboard slabs are taped tightly to prohibit movement of the books between them. Insurance and delivery confirmation of returns is entirely your responsibility. Books returned to Metropolis in packaging other than our own or in packaging that has not been taped and sealed sufficiently will not be accepted. We take extra precautions to pack our orders to prevent damage and breakage. If despite our efforts your order does arrive damaged, please do the following: If your order was delivered by FedEx, please contact Metropolis for instructions. If your order was shipped by U.S. Mail, take the entire order (all contents and all original packing material) to your local U.S. Post Office to file a claim. The U.S. Post Office will send the claim to us for processing. Do not repack and do not mail the damaged items back to us. This will void the U.S. Post Office insurance and we will not be able to give you a refund.
All comics are carefully and strictly graded by Metropolis Collectibles under the supervision and guidance of owners Vincent Zurzolo and Stephen Fishler, who were instrumental in devloping the 10-point grading system currently in use throughout the industry. Metropolis can not guarantee that CGC or other dealers will always agree with the grade Metropolis has given a book. Under no circumstance does Metropolis take a return based on a difference of opinion from another dealer or CGC. Customers have 10 days to return any raw comic if dissatisfied with the comic or grade (see return policy, above).
Metropolis guarantees that only books described as restored are restored. Before buying please read the comments field for the comic(s) you are interested in. In the rare case you discover a book Metropolis sold you as unrestored is restored Metropolis will give you a 100% refund within the first 30 days. After 30 days Metropolis offers a store credit redeemable toward any comic book purchase. This policy does not extend to any books that contain comments indicating any type or form of restoration. We consider books graded by CGC and placed into a blue, Universal holder to be unrestored. Customers are responsible for any expenses incurred in the discovery of restoration or shipping costs.
Please note all sales of comic books noted as graded by the Comic Guarantee Corporation and sealed in the CGC protective plastic casing, or any other sales of comic books graded and sealed by a 3rd Party Grader, are final.
Although the following is very rare, due to the nature of the acrylic CGC holders, minor chipping and cracking of the holder may occasionally occur during shipping. Metropolis Collectibles takes great pains to pack comics in a careful and protective manner, and our packaging methods have been painstakingly tested with FedEx to ensure we meet the highest standards of safety and stability. However, as cracking and chipping on CGC holders is quite common, Metropolis Collectibles cannot guarantee the condition of the CGC holder. Metropolis Collectibles cannot accept returns on CGC books due to holder damage that does not affect the grade, value or condition of the comic itself.
As Metropolis maintains an inventory of over 150,000 comics, we employ a stock code and label system that ensures the correct copy of each comic is sent with the correct order. This system does require a Metropolis inventory label to be affixed to the back of each CGC holder. The label neither damages the holder nor affects the integrity of the book itself, and may be removed with over-the-counter label removal solvents such as Goo Gone.
In response to overwhelming demand, Metropolis offers Time Payment options to our customers. The best thing about our time payment plan is that at Metropolis, we DO NOT CHARGE INTEREST at any time!
Here's how time payments work for orders of $750 or more: you would place a 20% down payment on the order in US funds; then the remainder of the total would be paid off in two to three roughly equal installments about every 30 days thereafter. The book would ship upon receipt of the last payment. For orders under $750 and over $250, we offer half-and-half time payments: half due upon ordering, the other half due within approx. 45 days. We do not offer time payment options for orders under $250. We can offer longer time payments for orders of over $5000, please email [email protected] or call 1.800.229.6387 (dial option 2) if you are interested in putting something on time period payments that exceed 90 days, or if you have any questions. All books will remain in our possession until full payment is received.
