In 2016 Metropolis Collectibles contributed a variety of comics and original comic art to the Marvel Age of Heroes Exhibition, a special event that toured Japan for two years. The exhibit was designed to be experienced in five stages: History, Heroes, Cinematic Universe, Art, and Culture. As attendees worked their way through the installation, they would receive an education about the rich history of Marvel’s superheroes while viewing some of the most important comics from the storied history of the publisher as well as impressive pieces of original comic art.

COO of Metropolis Vincent Zurzolo was honored to contribute important memorabilia to this historic event, “I was thrilled to loan this mighty Marvel selection of comics and art to tour Japan for 2 years. Educating new markets about what Jack, Steve, Stan and many other creators came up with to make Marvel so special is something Metropolis is very proud of.” Zurzolo continued, “During the opening night in Tokyo many of the stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were on hand to promote this very special event. Knowing that Chris Pratt and James Gunn were on hand to check out all the cool props, comics and art was very exciting!”

Some of the key comics Metropolis displayed at the event included: Amazing Fantasy #15, Avengers #1 & 57, Daredevil #1, Doctor Strange #169, Fantastic Four #1 & 52, Hulk #1, Iron Man #128, Journey into Mystery #83, Marvel Comics #1, Marvel Super-Heroes #18, New Mutants #98, Strange Tales #110, Tales of Suspense #39, X-Men #1, and X-Men Giant Size #1.
