This 64-page debut issue featured the origin of Bert's own superhero The Cyclone, plus Golden Age figures Inspector Blake of Scotland Yard, Rex Royce of the Canadian Mounted Police, Wings Bordon, and Smash Dawson — as depicted by a bullpen including V.J. Kay, Henry Boltinoff, Robert Turner, Rudolf Johnson, and pioneering Filipino-American artist Pagsilang Rey Isip.
