Tales of Suspense #1 came along from Atlas Comics as a bid for EC Comics' sci-fi anthology market, featuring a fun mix of sci-fi stories mixed with tales of the supernatural. The title, of course, would later become a vital part of the Marvel Age as Stan Lee used to book to introduce Iron Man as a regular feature, with Captain America eventually also having a regular slot. All of that is foreshadowed with the future Marvel Age talents featured in this issue. Al Williamson shows up as an EC veteran, but there's also great work from future Marvel stars including Don Heck cover; Steve Ditko and John Buscema!
