H.P. Lovecraft, the renowned cosmic horror writer, composed a sequence of 36 sonnets titled "Fungi from Yuggoth." The majority of these sonnets were written over a brief period between December 27, 1929 and January 4, 1930. Following this initial burst of creativity, individual sonnets from the sequence were subsequently published in Weird Tales and other genre magazines.
